NO THANK YOU DR PHIL MY TRADITION DOESN’T NEED A WHITE SAVIOR
To Dr Phil,
I belong to a historically persecuted minority Hindu religious tradition that is yet to see an end to the continuous genocide waged against us. The written history of my community and tradition dates to atleast 20,000 BC by western colonial standards.
My community and I are victims of various attacks; they include mob lynching, rape, assassination, genocide, torture, media-disinformation campaigns, character assassinations, lawfare, and persecution by prosecution. As a result, choosing to practice my tradition in plain sight is an everyday battle — facing judgment and ridicule at best to assassination and mob lynching at worst.
My tradition under the spiritual leadership of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH), Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam (JGM) His Divine Holiness (HDH) Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam — reviver of indigenous matrilineal lineages, teaches authentic Yoga, meditation, and plant-based lifestyle as per our ancient indigenous Hindu scriptures to promote the oneness of all living beings and stand for inclusive gender equality.
The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism is a role model for many, including me, by showing how one can continue to contribute to humanity while being deeply spiritually rooted in the indigenous and native traditions despite continuously escalating assassination attempts against him.
Inspite of centuries of colonial plunder, my community and tradition under the spiritual leadership of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH) continues to provide refuge and knowledge (for free) for all, irrespective of nationality, gender, caste, class, creed, race, or religious background.
Sarah Landry is not the first colonial white Canadian attacking my tradition and going by Dr. Phil’s blind faith in Sarah; sadly, it won’t be the last.
In the early part of the decade 2010, Sarah misappropriated the knowledge and resources of my tradition and started a cult in Europe. She mandated her followers to worship her feet as a mother goddess and wrote a manual for this “ritual”. People rightfully were unwilling to put up with her. She went broke and had no place to stay. She came knocking on the doors of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism and my tradition and asked for forgiveness. We forgave her and supported her so that she could continue to learn from my tradition under the guidance of the SPH. She changed her persona from a cult founder to a monk in my indigenous tradition.
Under the guidance of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, my ancient indigenous tradition has produced many Yogis (irrespective of religious background, gender, caste, or race) adept at great Yogic powers. Unable to learn from my tradition using my tradition’s point of view, Sarah embraced the persona of a western white Canadian savior. NO THANK YOU DR PHIL MY TRADITION DOESN’T NEED A WHITE SAVIOR.
Sarah Landry is not the first white colonialist to appropriate heritage and knowledge of my community and then attack to destroy it. Dr. Phil is working hard to continue this ugly colonial tradition and appropriation. Sarah uses the same playbook colonial playbook used to destroy my indigenous tradition using familiar colonial tropes.
Dr. Phil’s show is reckless at best and violent at worst, giving cover to the perpetrator of the genocide against my community. Dr. Phil’s show has placed a great deal of faith in discredited sources used by Sarah, including a child rapist convicted by US courts.
I am faced with two seemingly hard choices:
- Use my resources to respond to Dr. Phil
- Continue to use the limited resources I have to serve humanity
But, the choice is easy, the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism has shown me and reminds me — “I AM TOO BUSY LOVING THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME. I DON’T HAVE TIME TO HATE THE PEOPLE WHO HATE ME. THIS SHOULD BE THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF YOUR LIFE”
I demand Dr Phil stop airing this racist show and unconditionally apologize to the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism and the Adi-Shaiva Minority Tradition of Hinduism.
